Extended Description

This is and excellent alternative to the 406 beacons as it has the advantage of immediately alerting the vessels crew giving position data that can be connected to the onboard chart plotter.

With a range of 2 to 10 miles the V100 transmits synthesised voice message and a DSC message which is detected by a VHF radio.

All ships in the vicinity of the V100 will be alerted to the situation without the need for AMSA or other authority to process the Emergency situation.

The Mobilarm V100 is an automated Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) using VHF channels to transmit a distress signal to make a quick, effective rescue in a man overboard or 'person in the water' emergency situations.
Activation is automatic and has in-water Tracking.

The Mobilarm V100 can be easily clipped onto webbing, life jacket or harness, or carried in a pocket. For the unit to transmit the emergency message its antenna must be out of the water. The Mobilarm V100 should be worn at chest height not at waist level.

The V100 will automatically activate if the wearer goes overboard. After a short delay on contact with water, the device sends out the initial ˜Mayday, Man Overboard' alarm.

As soon as a GPS lock is obtained by the integrated 24 channel GPS receiver, usually within 30 seconds, the device transmits the distress call again, complete with longitude and latitude coordinates, then converts the data message into a synthesized voice for broadcast on VHF channel 16. The message is repeated at regular intervals to update rescuers on the current position of the MOB casualty. This continues until the device is deactivated; the Mobilarm V100 battery will provide transmission for at least 12 hours in normal conditions.
